Handmade Children Shoes

Handmade childrens shoes bought at local market in the 1960s. In the history of El Salvador, zapateros (shoemakers), were some of the most outspoken union members during the 1920s - 1930s. They led many protests demanding workers' rights and job protection against the machinery that threatened their livelihood.
